Bucket Trapping Opossums

Here is the rest of my story, today I went and checked my traps behind my grandmothers (she has a beaver problem) house to the pond to look at my beaver, coon, and mink sets. The beaver trap wasn't touched and I slid down the otter run to the coon and mink traps on the creek behind the pond. The first set was a bucket cubby, that I had already caught two possum in and didn't want another. Well, that's not how it was going to be, I looked at the bucket, and it was tipped over and the lid was on the bottom the creek bank. I ran to it and could already tell there was no way it was a coon or a mink it was a huge about 10 pound possum. I fasten my conibears to a 10 in stake by wire and that possum didn't have a chance. He never even moved the stake. So I pulled the springs together with my hands and pulled him out. there wasn't no way I was skinning that possum. He wasn't worth nothing, because it looked like he had been fighting because he was scratched and he had patches of hair missing. So I just hauled him off and fixed and re-baited my sets and was ready to go . I'm getting tired of these possums, that's the third one I've caught in that cubby and fifth one this year. I caught the other ones on trail and hole sets that were made for coon. Now that I've caught my first coon I'm trying for a mink. I have found mink sighing on two different creeks and have some mink traps ready and prepared for a mink. Well good luck and happy trapping and hunting or fishing whatever is your passion. I hope you enjoy it.
